SeMet is a selenium supplement in the form of selenomethionine, a natural form of the mineral that is the most prominent form which the body absorbs from food sources. The body stores the majority of its selenium as this form and it is a more efficiently utilised than other forms. Selenomethionine is also absorbed around 1 ½ - 2 times more effectively than the more common selenite form. Selenium contributes to the maintenance of normal hair and nails, the normal functioning of the immune system and the protection of cells from oxidative damage.
